The Boulevardier
For the first cocktail recipe I had to pick one of my all time favorites, the Boulevardier. It is a drink that has a complex flavor, a balance of bitter, sweet and boozy. A great go to drink when you are looking for something other than straight whiskey, yet not just the same old Manhattan. Basically a Negroni but substituting Whiskey for Gin , I figured we could start Negroni week off a little different this year. So without further ado I present to you the Boulevardier.
Boulevardier
- 2 ounces Rye (you can use bourbon if you prefer)
- 1 ounce Campari
- 1 ounce Sweet Vermouth (I recommend Carpano Antica)
- Stir together in mixing glass filled with ice
- strain into a martini glass or coupe (nothing wrong with enjoying it on the rocks either)
